Dura-Bond Coating offers the X-Tec hi-density extruded polyethylene protective coating for use on line pipe. X-Tec is a field-proven dual layer system that provides superior corrosion protection with a high resistance to cathodic disbondment. This durable coating is applied with a cross-head extrusion system that produces a seamless protection that is Impervious to moisture penetration and bacterial attack.
Dura-Bond’s X-Tec extruded polyethylene coating has been developed to meet the most rigid specifications and field tested in the most demanding applications to assure customers of proven protection. X-Tec offers exceptional coverage of irregularities in the pipe surface and its tough outercoat provides excellent mechanical protection during pipe transport and handling.
X-Tec is available with either a polymer modified asphalt or butyl rubber modified adhesive under an extruded black, yellow or white polyethylene topcoat. The coating’s mastic thickness is generally 10 to 15 mils and polyethylene can be ordered in a thickness of up to 60 mils. Each coated pipe is fully inspected to verify uniform coating thickness and to insure a holiday-free application. Dura-Bond can apply the X-Tec coating system to pipe ranging in size from 2” to 20” in diameter and in lengths up to 65’. X-Tec is compatible with a wide range of field joint systems such as heat shrink sleeves and cold-applied tapes.
